We have now gotten started on the 1972 SS Nova, we are well in to the body work on the firewall and door on the car.
This car should move a long pretty fast as it’s in great shape, just a few minor flaws to fix. The 1972 SS Nova should be a great looking car when it’s all done.

As usual we are always looking for things that need to be done for the 1974 Corvette to be safe to drive. During our restoration of this car we discovered that it has an old Ford power assist steering unit on it.
For a car like this one it just won’t do the job right. The old power assist steering was nothing great, it was jerky, and just not the best idea in general.
But it most defiantly doesn’t belong on a performance car, and if a Corvette is not a performance car I don’t know what is. It seems that we just keep finding these little things that they did, I’m guessing they just didn’t care.
After beating our heads against the wall to figure out the best repair for the A-Pillar on the 1974 Corvette we decided to make some plates for the top and bottom door hinge mounts, they turned out looking really good.
The previous people who worked on the car had slotted the A-pillar hinge mount holes. To this point in time we still don’t know why this was done. The truth is that we probably never will.
This kind of work is never called for at any time, and these people should never restore another car.
