The Process To Invest In Classic Cars

If you read my articles you know that my speciality is muscle cars, and that is the direction that I will head with this article. First I will discuss what you need to know about the cars before you buy them. I know if you have done any studying to this point you have probably heard this already.

First of all don’t depend on the seller to have all of the answers that your looking for. When you go to buy a classic car for investment purposes you need to look like the one who has the answers. Your best bet is to know the cars that you plan to buy inside and out, up and down and every other way.

First of all you need to learn the numbers for each car that you plan to invest in. The number are you best friend, and the only real way the you have to know if the car that your looking at is what you want. Also this will help you make sure that the person selling the car didn’t misrepresent it.

When it comes to high dollar classic cars you can’t trust anybody. Make yourself the expert, learn the options on the cars and how the numbers line up with the options. You cannot afford to leave a single thing to chance, or a fool and his money are soon parted.

Believe me if you get scammed on a classic car it will be because the seller knows more then you.

Below I will give you a list of numbers that you must know before you invest in classic cars.

The Numbers You Should Know

  • Vin Code
  • Engine RPO Code
  • Transmission Code
  • Engine Casting Number
  • Rear End Code
  • Paint Code
  • Interior Codes
  • Year Codes

The list above is a good place to start, although I may have missed something, no scammer will be able to rip you off. This will be enough to tell you if the car id a fake. Once you have determined that it’s a real car you should have an idependant inspector look at the car.

I know it will cost some money to have an independent inspector look at the car, but in the long run it will save you money. Every car that you decide to invest in, you should make yourself an expert on that year make and model of car.

Soon I will continue on with this article and post a list of good cars to start with. Remember I said good cars, not cheap cars. These cars will not be cheap.
